2020 NBA Mock Draft 2.0

  1.        Minnesota Timberwolves: Anthony Edwards Age: 19 School/ Team: Georgia, Freshman Height: 6’5” Weight: 225 lbs Position: Guard Analysis: Still picking Edwards for the first selection in the draft because his upside is as high as anyone in the draft. The Timberwolves might be blowing smoke about LaMelo Ball to leverage a trade. Welcome to The Draft Analytics Study

Welcome to The Draft Analytics Study, in this blog I will cover primarily the NBA, MLB, and NFL draft by taking a deeper look into trends from previous drafts. The analysis of previous drafts will help paint a picture as to what players will succeed in future drafts. The drafts that will be primarily analysed are based on the nearest upcoming draft. Not only is the research conducted analytical, but will also have to pass the eye test through watching players film before their professional debut. The mock drafts will show less raw numbers than an individual player analysis, as ...

2020 NBA Mock Draft 1.0

1.        Minnesota Timberwolves: Anthony Edwards Age: 19 School/ Team: Georgia, Freshman Height: 6’5” Weight: 225 lbs Position: Guard Analysis: Edwards has an NBA level frame with plus athleticism and big scoring potential. Edwards can complement D’Angelo Russell as an off-ball scorer who can space the floor. Edwards also can handle the ball but will need to improve his explosiveness while handling the ball. Edwards will be able to space the floor for Towns and can excel in the pick and roll with Towns. Edwards athleticism will be a problem for opposing forwards on the switch. T-Wolves fans might be concerned with this pick because of the Jarrett Culver pick last year. Edwards is similar to Culver positionally; however, Edwards is significantly more athletic. Culver and Edwards will be able to compliment each other on the court and will have adequate opportunity to develop. Head coach Ryan Saunders must determine whether Culver should be ...
